Spring into Bloom

By Kathleen Brewer

Easter Sunday is my favorite Sunday.  I awoke Sunday with this prayer on my heart. “He is risen.  He is risen indeed!  PRAISE THE LORD ALMIGHTY,” Praising God for His forgiveness, salvation, presence in my life and love to share with others.  I accepted the Lord as my Savior at the age of nine.  I grew up in a Baptist home and church and I knew very clearly that I needed a Savior. During the ups and downs of life Christ’s  love has grown deeper in my heart.

I really believe that God meant that Christ’s resurrection would be at the beginning of Spring.  Why?   During winter plants die, some animals hibernate but in the Spring seeds are planted and trees blossom, and soon there are new blooms of flowers, trees are different shades of green. Which brings smiles, joy and brightness to all around.  Winter is like sin in our life or the sameness in our spiritual walk.  Easter to me is an important time to make sure we have asked Jesus into our hearts, and also for those of us who have been saved awhile to renew our love for God and remember that first joy of His salvation.  To take the time to thank God for His love, thank Him for all that means to us and use the excitement to help us share the good news with all those we know by whatever means available.   In Acts 9:17-21 we read of Paul’s salvation.  Verse 20 says “And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues saying ‘He is indeed the Son of God'”.  Paul went from sins winter and sprung into the love of God telling all who he knew about Jesus.  Let’s renew our joy of Springtime in the Lord!
