Easter is my favourite holiday (holy-day). By this, I mean specifically Resurrection Sunday.
I encounter more people who seem to favour Christmas over Easter. Who doesn’t love the birth of a baby? It brings warm fuzzy feelings when we think of a newborn, especially one born under such amazing circumstances who just happens to be the son of God!
If Christ had only been born and later crucified, even as a sacrifice for our sins, where would our HOPE be? Our HOPE is in the fact that Jesus rose from the dead and we who have faith in him will do the same.
14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith…
17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have HOPE in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead… (1 Corinthians 15)
Easter is the greatest time of HOPE that we could ever celebrate. We are in desperate need of HOPE in this unusual time we face. Jesus’ resurrection gives us not only future HOPE of life forever but the HOPE we need in living our daily lives.
Applaud, cheer, praise, and sing. Alleluia, Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.
